The Island resort we found by fluke near
the Goa border This is an Island about 4 km off the cost of Karnataka just near the Goa border. Luckily not many people know about it yet. It is not very busy and has had very few non-Indian visitors. There is an abundance of natural food including oysters, mussels, lots of various fish. Also coconuts etc. It is a nature reserve but mainly due to the fact it's been uninhabited. Despite the owner's emphatic assertion that there are no snakes we have seen a small snake that looked scary and poisonous. Also, Colin had to run away from a rather large Rock Python. There are some very interesting spiders but a real abundance of amazing butterflies and birds of prey (e.g. Sea Eagle). Also a giant blue and green bee with blue eyes (see pic above right). There are dolphins and flying fish always visible off the beaches. The first time we went there we shocked the staff by swimming around it but it's only about 2km round.
