My Fair Lady | ||

There was a one-off charity production of My Fair Lady at the Town Hall last week which we were expecting to be dreadful but was in fact excellent, especially the cockney accents. They served cucumber sandwiches in the interval along with the usual samosas and bhajis and we even saw another white person in the audience | |

Dave shaved my head
|
Which was a surprise to us both given that Dave thinks you should never even trim your own fringe and I'd been purposely growing it since we left Britain. |

Hhiiindependence Day
The 15th August is probably the biggest
national holiday in the country so we put on our India T-shirts, bought a
packet of the local Beedies (mini cigar type things) and went on a pub crawl
to celebrate, getting a great reception from everyone we saw.. We
stopped off for a Housie Housie (Bingo) game at Eden club which was
definitely the slowest game of Bingo we've ever come across. We didn't win
anything, and didn't stay for the buffet which was sponsored by Kohinoor
Basmati rice and consisted solely of pilau, byriani, kheer, upma, rice
dumplings, fried rice etc etc. |
